2011 BSB Champion

Last year's defending champion returns to the 2012 MCE British Superbike Championship having re-signed with Swan Yamaha for another year. Hill took a highly convincing double victory at Knockhill last year and will be looking for a similar performance when he returns in June.

Shakey jumped ship this year by joining Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki, the Penrith based team, run by Paul Bird Motorsport. Byrne joins Scottish favourite Stuart Easton for 2012 and you wouldn't bet against this experienced campaigner being in with a title shot come October. Byrne has already done some mileage around Knockhill this year, so will be quiety confident when he arrives in Fife.

Easton returns the MCE British Superbike Championship eager to make up for an injury ravaged season last year. Like Byrne, he will be hoping the 2012 championship season heralds another title success for the Paul Bird Motorsport team, who took fellow borders rider, Steve Hislop to glory in 2002. Easton is renowed for making fast starts and let's hope he is flying when he reaches Knockhill.

Aussie, Brookes returns with Northern Irish TAS Racing that took him to a 5th place finish in 2011. Admittedly it took the team and Brookes a few rounds to get going last year, but once they did, they were a force to be reckoned with. Make no mistake, Brookes wants that BSB Championship and he'll be looking to hit-the-ground running in 2012.

Japanese star, Nitro Nori comes with undoubted pedigree having raced in World Superbikes and MotoGP for the past 10 years. Despite never winning a WSB or MotoGP crown, Haga has always been a consistent performer finishing 3rd & 2nd on three separate occassions (WSB). Like John Hopkins last year, Noriyuki will have to learn some new tracks, if he can master the circuits and the racing quickly, he shouldn't be counted out.
